About OpenKyrgyz

Hi! My name is Vladimir and I am the creator of this project. Its goal is to make learning the Kyrgyz language more accessible. I was born and live in Bishkek. I love learning foreign languages, and in 2024, I finally got around to Kyrgyz. While learning, I encountered a problem - unfortunately, there's not much information about the Kyrgyz language online.

There are a few good websites and books, but they weren't enough for me. Many languages where verbs often change depending on tense and pronoun (e.g., French or German) have similar websites. But I couldn't find one for Kyrgyz.

That's how the idea came about - to create a tool that conjugates Kyrgyz verbs in all tenses and main forms.

About Kyrgyz Language

Kyrgyz is an agglutinative Turkic language with a developed vowel harmony system. The language has 8 personal pronouns, 6 cases, and a complex system of verb tenses and moods.
