Flow💭Modal Constructions

Obligated: -ышы тийиш

Obligation, duty

In English the word "must" or "should" can mean different things: "I must buy bread" (because we've run out) and "I must obey the law" (because it's my duty).

In Kyrgyz, everyday necessity is expressed with the gentle word керек (needed). But when it comes to duty, rules, moral obligations, or firm commitments, the word тийиш (obliged / must) is used.

🧠 The Logic and Literal Translation

Grammatically, this form works exactly like the "maybe" construction (-ышы мүмкүн).

The word тийиш goes at the very end, while a special suffix is attached to the verb that turns the action into a noun, plus your personal signature (a possessive ending).

Literally, the phrase «Мен барышым тийиш» translates as: "My-going — is obligatory."
