Don't remember how to say "to plan" in Kyrgyz? Want to use the word "cringe" as a verb? Kyrgyz has a completely legitimate and universally understood way to turn any word into a Kyrgyz verb — using the universal verb эт- (этүү).
Take a word. Attach эт-. Conjugate. Done.
- Ал кринжовать этет. — He's cringing.
- Мен скучать эттим. — I missed (you/someone).
Native speakers will understand you.
🧠 Logic
The verb этүү (root эт-) on its own means "to do" or "to perform". When another word is placed before it, эт- takes on all the grammar: tense, person, question, negation. The first word doesn't change — it simply stands in front and says what is being done.
In literary Kyrgyz, этүү is a well-established auxiliary verb. It works with Kyrgyz and Arabic nouns, turning them into actions.
In colloquial speech, the same construction is applied to Russian, English, and slang words — and it works just the same.

Colloquial vs. literary
Using Russian/English words + эт- is a colloquial style. It sounds natural and alive among friends, in chats, and on the street.
🛑 Note: In official texts, on exams, and in formal speech, it's better to use literary Kyrgyz verbs:
| Colloquial | Literary | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| гулять этет | сейилдейт | strolls |
| скачать этет | көчүрүп алат | downloads |
| планировать этет | пландайт | plans |
| игнорить этет | көңүл бурбайт | ignores |
